Privacy Policy — Keep Wild

Keep Wild shows drone operators the protected land they may not operate from. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. There is no Keep Wild server, and the developer never receives your data.
This policy explains the one thing the app does with sensitive information: it uses your location, and while you are online it asks federal mapping services what lies around you.
Location
The app reads your device’s location to determine which protected areas you are standing in. You are asked for permission the first time, and you can withdraw it at any time in Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Location Services. Without it the map still works; the app simply cannot work out which protected areas you are standing in.
Your location is never stored off your device, never linked to your identity, and never used to track you across apps or websites.
What leaves your device, and to whom
While online, the app sends a small geographic box around your position to public mapping services so it can draw the map and look up boundaries. It sends no name, no account, no device identifier and no advertising identifier — only coordinates.

These are independent operators. Their handling of the requests they receive, including any server logs they keep, is governed by their own policies and is outside the developer’s control.
Downloading a region stops this. Once a downloaded region covers where you are, the map and the boundary check are answered entirely from your device, and nothing about your position is sent anywhere.
What is stored on your device
Downloaded map tiles, the boundary data for downloaded regions, and your app settings. All of it stays in the app’s own storage. Deleting a downloaded region removes its data; deleting the app removes everything.
What the app does not do
- No accounts, sign-in or personal details
- No analytics, crash reporting or usage measurement
- No advertising, and no advertising identifier
- No tracking, and no sharing or selling of data to anyone
- No third-party software development kits that collect data
Children
Keep Wild is not directed at children and collects nothing that would identify anyone, of any age.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be published here with a new effective date.
